Default Username & Password for Huawei, ZTE & Sierra Wireless Hotspots & Modems

Most mobile broadband wireless modems (aka mobile hotspots, MiFi, mobile WiFi, portable router) are pre-configured with a default manufacturer username and password.

Below is a list of manufacturer default usernames and passwords.

ZTE

Default Username: admin (some ZTE devices do not require a username)

Default Password: admin

Huawei

Default Username: admin (some Huawei devices do not require a username)

Default Password: admin (some device require a capital 'A' i.e. 'Admin')

Sierra Wireless

Default Username: admin (some Sierra devices do not require a username)

Default Password: admin

Devices that have been network branded may have different default passwords to the manufacturer. Often the network operator will print the username and password in the battery compartment or on a piece of card that comes with the device.

If you have changed the wireless modem \ hotspot password and forgotten what it is, the device will need to be reset to the manufacturer's default settings. This is usually achieved by pressing a small inset button (a paper clip or similar narrow item will be required) which is located on the device. On some devices the back cover will have to be removed to locate the reset button.

Note: ALL settings including the username and password will be reset
